Dawn Of War Necrons

Hmmm, not sure bout this. Personally, i think orb is a waste, tomb spider is much more efficient and doesnt take up a valuable NL power spot. I tend to choose my powers dependant on which race im vs.Also, 3 gens then mono upgrade, bad idea.

Necron t1 can hold off most other races t2 for a significant length of time, therefore fast t2 isnt a huge benefit. A good cron player knows the key is a strong early eco, and 3 gens just isnt enough. If u watch replays, most good players get plus 80 to plus 100 before going t2.Thats just my oppinion from experiance tho, i havent tried this, but for me it just seems far too risky. Res Orb allows you to have twice your population and it's fast, while the Tomb Spyder can only generate new harvested troops up until the current squad population cap +5, and it's slow.I want to have an early t2 because I want the FOs.And, remember my earlier tips:2° Your Builder Scarabs must never be free;Always make them build or repair something.Always continue capturing and fortifying or building generators. So that while my mono is upgrading to t2 I usually have 5 gens.By the way, I kneed help: I can't play online.

It keeps telling me 'CD authentication failed' what should I do?If anybody knows other tips and good strategies, please add them to this topic.Thank you very muchLord Fletcher. It keeps telling me 'CD authentication failed' what should I do?If anybody knows other tips and good strategies, please add them to this topic.Thank you very muchLord FletcherMost of your general tips are quite sound for both skirmish and online. However, your general guide applies mostly to skirmish. Playing against human players is very different from bots - you will need to adapt your build order to the race youre playing, and to the specific strat your opponent uses. If you just blindly stick to one huge build order, you won't get anywhere. For example, you opt to go for a resurection orb, where as most players online will forgo this ability (tombspiders can resurect too - whats the point of having two things that can do the same thing?) in favour of getting more usefull early on abilities like solar flare, phase shift, etc that will help them to gain the advantage early on.This game is not about how big an army you can spawn against your enemy, but rather how effectively you can use your units.

Don't be discouraged however, for someone who doesnt play online your tips are generally good.I'm sorry I dont know how to help you with the cd authentication good luck solving that - you'll find online way more fun than skirmish. The key is to have a cool head and think situations through reasonably quickly. When you're not sure what to do, just think what your best reply to what's happening will be. Knowing and/or successfuly predicting what your enemy is going to do is vital - for each race there is really only a few viable strategies that are used, so learn them, then learn how to counter them.Typically your lord is your best scout - he can harrass as well as scoutingThe key to becoming a good player is practice, watching high level reps and learning from your mistakes as well as the reps. When watching reps ask yourself:1. Why did he build that unit then?2.

Dawn Of War Necrons

Why did he split/mass his forces?3. Why is he attacking that unit/ building rather than another one?Learning by copying is a really good idea - you save time that you would have had to spend figuring out stuff for yourself by making your own mistakes. After a while adapting your bo will just become natural. BOs are a must for t0-t1 play, because you have to optimize the map strategy you're going for to gain early advantage, but past that, it's definitely best to look at your opponent's strat and counter, rather than just determinedly soldier on to whatever 'ideal' army a player believes is invincible.I would not say that the best situation would be to look at your opponent's strat and counter, the best situation would be to dictate the pace of the game and force your opponent to counter your strat. If you have to adapt on the fly, you are probably on your back foot, while your opponent is pushing forward. By always making the other guy adapt, and then adding on to your strategy, you become the one in control of the skirmish. If your opponent has to constantly come up with new ways to deal with your ever-evolving strategy, then he cannot implement one of his own.If your opponent gives you an obvious opening, like a blatant fast-tech - go ahead and make him pay - but relic made it so that DC 1.2 was not a game of hard counters, and more of a game of aggression. By no means can you play without adaptations during a match, but watching some of the really good players has shown me that winning is usually about trying to keep the other guy off guard.

How do I chenge my group? For example 'Soldier' or 'Strategy Specialist'?need help pleaseYou don't actually set your own group here. Strategy Specialist is a staff position, and soldier is the term for a member. If you want to be on staff, the admins are always looking for a Cron Strat Mod, but I think that you might need to patch to DC 1.2 and play online some more before you are qualified. There are plenty of other things that you can do to help the community though if you are dissatisfied with being a regular member, so look around and get a feel for what this site has to offer, and PM one of the admins if you want to help out and be involved.EDIT: After I hit 'reply' I realized that I already had the link to bookmarked. While I was at it, I found that the site is recruiting as well, if you are interested. Don't apply without looking at this that details what each position is about, though. This post has been edited by Alexander707: Feb 23 2008, 20:57 PM.

Glyph of the ImplacableThere are many in the Imperium who believe the Necron threat to be unstoppable. While they may overestimate the organizational capabilities of these ancient warriors, they are wise to be wary and may save their own lives for thinking so.

This stoic glyph grants additional Armor Rating. Mindshackle ScarabsNecrons seek to either destroy or enslave.

When destruction is not desired and a planet continues to defy them, Mindshackle Scarabs are often used. Nightmare ShroudUpon activation, the mind-twisting effects of the Nightmare Shroud immediately begin to take hold. Phase ShifterAncient Necron Crypteks perfected the art of 'flickering' in and out of reality, using it on a number of their more terrifying machines of war.

A personal Phase Shifter allows the Overlord to instantly skip short distances, either to close in on a foe or to escape danger.
